Luxembourg full band debut! Crossfire - The Nordic Bar is a little gem in the middle of the Luxembourg castles. 10 euro suggested. It's a little place and this show WILL SELL OUT so get there early.
Known by many as the first band ever to be kicked out of Wal-Mart for playing an illegal show, "Brett Newski & the No Tomrorrow" makes its debut in one of Europe's strongest punk rock markets, Munster, Germany!
About the NEW LP:
Everyone is under the thumb of something: anxiety, toxic relationships, self-bullying, a miserable job, the list goes on. Life Upside Down is an album about turning life right side up. It's about getting free from the worst enemy of all: thyself.
Brett Newski has certainly kicked his own ass over the past 6 years, touring infinitely (mostly alone) and wandering downthe rabbit hole of anxiety, depression, and wallowing self-doubt. All of these negatives have blossomed into positive creative energy on his third LP.
"Anxiety can actually be a good thing. If you use it right, that nervous energy can be channeled into motivation or creativity," explains Newski. "Even the most seemingly confident people have self doubt."
Produced by Hutch Harris of Sub-Pop legends The Thermals and engineered by Beau Sorenson (Death Cab for Cutie, Superchunk, Bob Mould), Life Upside Down is a beautiful catharsis to a happier brain and sense of belonging. If you frequently find yourself stuck in your own head traffic, this record might help get you free.
Growing up on Pixies, Cake, Beck, Weezer, and Violent Femmes (who Newski has toured with on several occasions), Life Upside Down channels a raw 90s sound that brings you back to an era where guitars were king and MacBooks didn't count as a live instrument.
Christian Smedström aka Christian & the 2120's are one of Sweden´s hidden music exports. His songs and songwriting can be heard all over the world; on tv, in movies and commercials.
You have most likely already heard his music while watching your favorite American tv shows such as SONS OF ANARCHY, CSI MIAMI, SHAMELESS, THE GOOD WIFE, BACKSTROM; or movies such as THE HEAT (Sandra Bullock, Melissa McCarthy), TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, PUNCTURE (Chris Evans), SHANGHAI CALLING (Bill Paxton) and many many many more.
Since the demand of his music in movies, tv-shows and commercials, he´s not touring as much as he used to.
So this is a rare opportunity to catch him and his soulful music, performed in the way he wrote all those songs you didn't know you already knew, while he for once is out of the recording studios in Los Angeles, Atlanta, USA & Gothenburg, Sweden.
He will have a new album under his wings on this tour; an album entitled "Wellknown Strangers", a follow up to the 2016 release and critically acclaimed "Moments"; by HUFFINGTON POST claimed to be "The Indie summer road trip album".
Believe it or not - This is a FREE concert!
Support your local Nordic bar by showing up, buy a drink in the bar and enjoy the music.
Welcome to Luxembourg, Christian!
Meybahar live at New Crossfire -.Luxembourg, 28th of September 2018!
The Hungarian-Greek band based on the duet of Marilia Pilti (GR) santouri (cusin of Hungarian cimbalom) and Márton Kopcsik (HU) violin player with his own custom made instrument: a 5 string viola with sympathetic strings. Santouri and violin makes a perfectly matched musical pair on the stage, and creates always magic atmosphere.
The music of Meybahar resonates the hidden places of our soul, through the original cultures around the Aegean Sea and Middle East. The repertoire with rich improvisation is a unique reinterpretation of their favorite Greek, Armenian and Turkish compositions.
-AT LEAST WE GOT A STORY TO TELL-
Citizen Tim (Marco Kallenborn) knows, that there are stories in our lives wich define ourselves. The go-getting singer songwriter from Saarbruecken tries to combine catchiness and authenticity in his own stories.
After the release of his debut-EP "Human Circus" (Midsummer Records) in summer 2016, he focused on stage presence. After 50 shows in whole Germany, sharing the stage with great acts like TRADE WIND, EAST CAMERON FOLKCORE, MATZE ROSSI or SAM ALONE & THE GRAVEDIGGERS, he recorded his first LP "Hospital Breakfast Conversations" (Midsummer Records). The album has been recorded, mixed and mastered on his own in a tiny room.
Joel Havea is a man of many talents. A skilled songwriter, natural singer, great guitarist and an overall engaging performer whose songs demonstrate his wide ranging musical and cultural influences. With his unique background, Joel is certainly well prepared to handle the impressive new heights being reached by his music.
Coming from the vibrant, eclectic music scene in Australia's cultural capital of Melbourne, Joel cut his teeth playing live from a young age, as part of “the Havea Brothers” duo with his younger brother Dave. In the process, he developed his own brand of reggae and soul infused acoustic song-writing with pop sensibilities, no doubt also influenced by his mixed Tongan and Dutch heritage.
After some extensive world travel, including playing gigs throughout Asia and Europe, Joel found a new home in Hamburg, Germany, and set to work warming up the chilly city's music venues with his ready smile and heartfelt delivery.
Since the release of his well-received debut album "You Make Me Believe", Joel has not been content to rest on his laurels – in fact, quite the opposite. Since 2012 he has played over 500 concerts in more than 20 countries on 4 continents and has been a fixture on the festival and club circuit in Europe and Australia.
Recently, Joel has been hard at work with his Hamburg based band, namely Leo Lazar (Drums & Vocals) and Arnd Geise (Bass), both highly sought-after players in the German music scene. The chemistry between these 3 musicians is palpable on stage and this dynamic rhythm section adds a high-octane boost to Joel’s music, which is best experienced live.
As the Joel Havea Trio, they released their first record together on the 31st of March 2017 and since then have been touring throughout Europe, playing club shows and festivals from Germany, Austria and Switzerland and up to the Baltics and Scandinavia. This sense of a shared voyage is reflected in the album's title “Setting Sail”, while calling to mind images of their hometown port city of Hamburg, it was also no doubt further influenced by the band recording portions of the record while literally being at sea, as guest artists on board a cruise ship! “Setting Sail” has already racked up generous radio plays in Germany including NDR Hamburg, SWR1 Mainz, Radioeins, Nordwestradio Bremen and Deutschlandradio Kultur.
